“One of the most reliable Electrify America charging stations that I have come across on the eastern seaboard. Rarely is there a wait, and if so, a short wait. It's in the Walmart parking lot, which has a bathroom. There are also nearby fast food restaurants and a Target that one may walk to, carefully/cautiously. Internet connections seem very fast. “The Electrify America station at Walmart in Abingdon, Virginia, is a top-notch spot for EV charging. With four 150 kW stations and four 350 kW stations, I was pleased to find that all were operational when I arrived. It’s rare to see everything in perfect working order, so kudos to Electrify America for the maintenance here. I spotted a Chevy Bolt, Volvo, Hyundai Kona, and Genesis all charging without issues. One standout feature is the inclusion of a handicap stall and a CHAdeMO station, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for a range of vehicles. The location is also convenient for a quick walk with my dog, with trash cans nearby, making it easy to clean up. While a covered area would have been a nice addition, especially for those hot or rainy days, the overall setup is well-designed and user-friendly. Electrify America did a great job with this station—clean, efficient, and accessible. It’s a reliable spot for anyone traveling through the area and needing a quick, hassle-free charge.
