What drivers have written
“I’m giving one star based on the charging process for this charger. You cannot charge unless you allow them to place a $50 authorization hold on your card. That’s an excessive amount- when have you ever been charged $50 to charge an EV- an authorization should only be placed for the maximum reasonable amount to charge to full. This is not a gas pump- when you attach the plug to your car, their system knows how much charge you already have and how long/much electricity it will take to get you to full. The $50 would not be a deal breaker, except the fact that they hold it an extreme amount of time. I inserted my card, charged and forgot about it, trusting everything to come out correctly in the wash. I keep a close eye on my cards in general and today I realized that money had been added to my line of credit so I looked at my dashboard (Apple Card). I hadn’t received any refunds so I chatted with Goldman Sachs to find out where this extra money came from. Turns out it showed back up because the authorization hold had been released. Don’t let them tell you it’s up to the bank to decide the speed at which you receive your money back to a card- it’s not. It’s up to the bank, once the merchant releases the hold, but why is the merchant holding my money nearly a month after using their charger? That’s not acceptable. So the combo of the excessive amount and the authorization hold time- I will not be using this charger again. I don’t think that’s an honest practice.” — Jamie Henderson, a year ago
