“Level 2, and no real restrictions. There are 4 chargers, all were working. 40 amp max. Charged 1st day and was the only car, but another was there on return. Day 2 was same. Easy access. Put Visitor Center in GPS and takes you right there. Thank you Bryson City!” — Tony Smithson, a year ago
“TLDR: level 2 charger worked great and was FREE Finally a small town who knows what's up. I was on my way to Cherokee to hit the Rivian chargers in a strip mall when I saw that there was a 'medium fast' charger in what looked like an actual town. Pulled off the highway and was pleasantly surprised to find free level 2 charging in a free parking lot in the middle of town. Four chargers were available, but of course some assclown in an F350 dually was blocking one spot. Plugged in, started charging right away without issue. Had a beer and bought a shirt at BC Outdoors, then got lunch at the food truck behind Mountain Layers Brewing and had a beer there too. This is the perfect example of why small towns need to install EV chargers, free or otherwise,especially in rural areas. People will stop to charge for an hour and will patronize your shops and restaurants. Put in enough chargers on a decently trafficked route and your town will benefit greatly.
