“Totally insufficient to meet demand. If you go here at almost any time a normal person would find themselves at the mall, all of the chargers are occupied, and there is no orderly way to determine who is next in line. Also, jerks frequently just leave their cars here once done charging and accrue idling fees just trying up the charger. “Avoid using Electrify America chargers if you can. I was tempted to give a one-star rating to emphasize my frustration but the second star represents being able to use a fast charger (rated for 350kW) that actually worked on the first try (the implication here is that we've experienced our share of non-working EA chargers). My big gripe is the no-warning idle fee. Allow me to explain and let me know if I'm off the mark. After plugging in and doing the payment setup on the screen, I explicitly opted to receive text updates so that I would know when charging was complete so that I could AVOID an idle fee. I was visually checking my phone often to make sure I didn't miss a text. I never received a text informing me that charging was complete and that we were going into idle time (I don't have access to remote information about this car as I was borrowing it) - it wasn't until we unplugged that a summary text was sent to me. I reached out to EA's customer service team with the details to try and get a refund on the idle fee and here is their uninformative conclusion that doesn't even address my concern about NEVER RECEIVING A TEXT informing me that charging was complete (i.e., a technical issue with THEIR equipment): "Thank you for contacting Electrify America. After carefully reviewing your request, we are unable to process a refund for the session in question. Our records show you were correctly billed for idle fees, as your vehicle was not unplugged within the 10-minute grace period. Please refer to the charger screen for the most up-to-date information concerning pricing, power levels, and idle fees for your session." Where in that response does it indicate that they verified that a text message was confirmed to have been sent by their system (at least at that point I would know the fault was on my end with my phone)? But no. Alas, more evidence that Electrify America is a compliance project by VW being run as such.” — Paul Lamson-LaPlume, a year ago
