“Extremely disappointed and stranded. We are traveling from Detroit to Traverse City for a hockey tournament, and Tesla’s navigation routed us specifically through this Cadillac location (8605 34 Rd). Out of the 8 stalls here, only ONE is actually functioning and only charging at 5kW. We arrived with only 30 miles of range left—not nearly enough to reach another station in this weather—and now we are stuck in a massive queue waiting hours just to get a charge. Because of this maintenance failure, we are likely going to miss the hockey tournament we’ve been preparing for. I’ve been a proponent of EVs, but after this experience, I’m joining the chorus of people saying electric cars are not reliable for long-distance travel in cold weather. Between the battery drain from the Michigan cold and the abysmal uptime of these chargers, this has been a nightmare.
