“Beware: Major Charger Ripoff The normal charging rates are reasonable—$2/hour plus $0.35/kWh. The problem is that after 4 hours, they add an outrageous $15/hour fee. Because the charger is extremely slow, an overnight charge can easily leave you waking up to an extra $125+ in fees on top of the actual charging cost. This is especially egregious for hotel guests who are already paying the hotel for parking. Penalizing a guest for leaving an EV plugged into a very slow charger overnight makes no sense. The hotel operator should seriously reconsider or renegotiate its ChargePoint arrangement. $15/hour after four hours at a slow hotel charger is terrible policy and terrible for guests.” — Ariel Levy, a month ago
