“We plugged in and went to the mall to shop and dine while the car charged. The charger stopped charging at 55% and we were then charged an idle fee that was more than the energy added. We went out and moved the car to a different charger to finish charging. When we reached out to Electrify America requesting a refund of the idle fee since the car was not fully charged, they told us we should have been paying better attention to our app and that it was not their fault our car stopped charging at 55%. This has never happened to us before, so this is unexpected and disappointing. We will be using other chargers in the future.” — Justin, 11 months ago

“My charger stopped at 52% when it was set to go until 75% at Cherry Creek Mall. I had no error message on the vehicle and no message of completed charging and I returned at the initially given time. I was charged $10 of idle fees. I called EA thought away and after being on the phone for 16 minutes, on hold for a long part of that, they would not refund the idle fees. (There were also 4 open chargers at the time). I was told to contact my manufacturer, who really has nothing to do with idle fees. EA chargers are often unreliable and it's easy to rack up fees. “Charging/parking behind a gate that forces you to pay at least $2 at all times is pretty disappointing. That's more on Cherry Creek Mall being unethical and money grubbing (they do this to mall staff?!), on a plus side, there's always charging stations open due to nobody wanting to be forced into paying to get access to charge.
