What drivers have written
“Driving to visit a friend we stopped at this Welcome Station. This was my first time at the NY Welcome Center. I’ve been to one on the NY State Thruway which has a similar feel and also has chargers that were out of service. There are two EV chargers in the back of the parking lot. Both have one CCS and one CHAdeMO plug. A car was charging at one and the other one was out of service. This is disappointing. NY needs to have working fast chargers at any of their welcome centers. These are old 50kW Tritium chargers and use EVconnect but are free. We didn’t need a charge so it wasn’t an issue for us. I hope there are plans to put in a few fast (150kW or faster) chargers. It’s a great location for fast chargers. It doesn’t need to be free but needs enough chargers that you know one will likely be available when you arrive and work. An issue with free is that people use it just to save money so they are often hard to get a spot at. Charge and use that money to put in more chargers and maintain the ones that NY has. I like the EVolve NY stations that are 350kW so EVs can charge and make room for another EV as fast as possible.” — Bill, 11 months ago
“Thanks to the great state of New York, we can fill up for free here, although it is a slow charger compared to the Tesla supercharger. More and more people are finding out about this, and they descend like vultures on it.” — Pedro Gelabert, a year ago
“Coming 2 times...very happy” — B G, a year ago
