“The FLO Charging Station in Edson is a good and convenient stop midway between Edmonton and Jasper, especially for EV road trippers looking to take a break, stretch, grab coffee, or have something to eat before continuing the drive. The location itself is practical and makes for a relaxing stop during a long trip through the mountains. Having nearby food and coffee options definitely improves the experience while waiting for the car to charge. That said, I still believe FLO really needs to improve the charging speeds across many of their stations. With newer EVs now capable of much faster DC charging, the current kW charging speeds feel outdated for long-distance travellers who are trying to get back on the road efficiently. Overall, the station is useful because of its location and nearby amenities, but faster charging infrastructure would make a huge difference for today’s EV drivers.” — Siavash Rastegari, 3 months ago

“This 50 KW charger delivers 50 KW, unlike its neighbouring Tesla chargers which deliver less that half (for my Kia EV6 anyway) of the 250 KW posted rate. This charging station is well located in Edson for an easy walk to food outlets such as Edo Japan. For only a partial top up enroute to Jasper (where I can plug in at my hotel) from Edmonton, the extra few minutes at FLO is worth it to avoid Musk's punitive pricing.” — Stuart McCormick, 5 months ago
