“Arrived at 4pm on an October Friday and was the only car. Used iPhone to scan QR code on charging station. Had to get EV Connect app from App Store. Was able to use as guest and not build an account. Used CCS1 to Tesla adapter. My adapter has not always worked on non Tesla branded chargers. I was happy to see it working with this one. Battery was 44% when I arrived. My Tesla 2025 model Y estimated 1 hour and 15 minutes to 100% charge limit. Max. charge was 61kW. Wish Tesla would allow preconditioning for non Tesla chargers. Pros: 1. My car charged. This has been an issue for my car on non Tesla chargers. 2. Site was clean and easy to get to and plenty of space. 3. Charged as guest in EV Connect app. Did not have to build account. Did not have to preload a digital wallet. Paid only for power I used. Cons: 1. Location is 15 minutes drive off of Hwy 20. Should be much closer to Hwy. 2. Had to install another charger app. 3. No amenities at charger. No trash can. No window washer. No canopy. 4. Not Tesla branded. “Took my 2026 Model S to charge from 42% to 80%. Generally easy to get up and charging. Took about a minute talking between the car and charger before starting. It started at 160kw and ramped down to 68 kw when charging was complete. This is the best choice in Fort Dodge, but use the 180kw chargers. They are the ones that have two cables and much larger than the others. There are 2 180kw chargers. (There are smaller chargers here also.) There are plenty of places to eat nearby of a variety of types. Great location. I give it 4 stars because it is more difficult to use than a Tesla Supercharger if you are driving a Tesla, but really not too bad. I had the app downloaded and a credit card entered in it.
