What drivers have written
“UPDATE: As of September 12th, the chargers are back in working condition. However, the garage has changed its charging policy. Previously, it was free for the first 30 minutes, but now it’s only free for the first 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, you’ll need to pay $4 plus tax for the remaining 15 to 120 minutes. The chargers are also slow, charging only 72kWh. They seem to want you to stay longer so they can earn more parking money. So, avoid this charger if you want to save money. This Tesla Supercharger is a joke. You have to wait 20–40 minutes just to get a spot, then after 30 minutes of parking, they start charging you $2 “up to an hour.” So you’re paying to wait, paying to park, and then paying to charge. On top of that, the charging speed is super slow. Mine was only getting 31kW, the car next to me was at 35kW. It took me 55 minutes to charge and 22 minutes just to get a spot. Feels like they’re doing it on purpose—slowing down charging so you stay longer and get hit with parking fees. Tesla doesn’t care, and the garage just wants to make money. What a scam. Keep buying electric cars, people… good luck with this mess.” — PreetDaPOV, 12 months ago
“The site seems to be capping the speeds of the chargers to increase wait times and thus increase parking revenue. The city needs desperately needs more Superchargers, Atlas is taking advantage of the scarcity. Additionally paying through the web and pay by plate have seemed to have been disabled, further causing delays and slowing down exit, also eliminating the 15 minute exit buffer.” — Rashad, 9 months ago
“This supercharger is better than the nearby Queens Center mall one in every dimension. High turnover means no wait. Get ~40% to ~90% in 40 minutes. Two hour parking is 4 dollars. It did open at night still with some restaurants open. Enter via the 82nd St entrance for faster access. Can charge past 80%. Congestion fees start after 5 minutes past 80%.” — Bin Gao, 9 months ago
