What drivers have written
“Once a month I charge here & always 1 or more machines down or there's never an ETA when the machine will be back up. If not, the payment through the app will not process. When I call, it's oh I can't find you in our system 馃うthen when I'm found, it's just log out & back in. The question I hear asked, why are there 2 plugs at each station if only 1 can be used. This company needs to be more user friendly.” — Will_I_Am D, 7 months ago
“Busy, tight spaces. NO simultaneous charging. Only one cord can be used at a time. 2 cords for redundancy, in case one is broken. Don鈥檛 plug in when someone is using the stall, or it may stop their session. There should be a sign that says this. Been using this for 3 years now. As always, here are a few reasons why most people around me couldn鈥檛 charge today: 1)They were relying on the credit card reader instead of having the Electrify America app to initiate & pay for a session. 2)They were relying on the Ford Blue/BMW/Hyuandai app to automatically recognize their car & pay for a session, while not having the Electrify America app, which would鈥檝e told them ahead of time that the stall they chose is Out of Service, yet they spent 20min trying to troubleshoot. The most common reason you can鈥檛 charge is because you鈥檙e plugging in right away, without being ready to initiate payment. There is a 30 sec timeout after plugging in, meaning if you don鈥檛 initiate via the app, credit card, ApplePay, etc, right away you will have to unplug, return the cable to station, and start over again. Download the app, make an account, organize your passwords, add credit card(s) to account, research station status before arriving, then only plug-in once you have everything ready to go. Check your car鈥檚 dash inside to confirm charging has started, rather than waiting on the screen at the stall which can be delayed. Staying between 20-80% battery will give you the most miles per minute. Charging over 80% is a waste of time because all cars slow down their charging speeds, this creates lines at the station. Never arriving with less than 20% allows you to get to the next few stations incase you can鈥檛 charge while reducing range anxiety. Stopping more often for less time, will get you there quicker, with better piece of mind- plus more knowledge of stations, and which to avoid in the future. Consider slower charging stations for a cheaper rate or even free, if you really need the extra miles over 80%-they鈥檒l be a similar speed to what you鈥檒l get at a fast charger anyway, especially over 90%. Most Electrify America stations are full of first time renters unaware of how to charge & people who receive free charging credit from the dealer, which is why they are the most busy & charge over 80%. Use the PlugShare app to search all networks at once. -5 years experience, 150k EV miles driven across country.” — Tanner, 3 months ago
“Always always some.stations are down !!!!! Also some jerks are not waiting in the que and charging from the other side ( backside of the charging stations ) Always congested, busy and small lots sharing the lots with Tesla owners. Speaking of Tesla, their stations are always available, quick in and out. I will buy Tesla or non-Ev cars next time.... This charging experience for the past 2 years have been mostly unpleasant, long and always hassle” — Kenny Park, a year ago
