“It’s great when you can take a walk or hike as your EV is charging. We have hiked at Batsto a few times but this was our first time there with an EV. There are two chargers with 4 J1772 plugs. Each share 6.5kW for $0.25kW. When we arrived there was a Tesla and a Jeep charging at the two different chargers. We plugged in with the Tesla so we both only got 3.25kW. That’s a really slow charge. We walked for two miles and when we got back the Jeep was getting ready to leave so we moved over to that charger. This allowed us and the Tesla to both get the full 6.5kW. Still slow but adequate for a charger in a park and the price is great. We have used these ChargePoint chargers before and I like them for parks or hotels where speed is not the most important feature. Our second charge (after moving to the other charger) got 7.5KW for $1.85 in 1 hour 17 minutes. There is a bathroom here and a food truck was here when we were charging.” — Bill, a year ago
