“First, I’d like to say I’m not sure what’s normal for electric charging stations. I was unfortunately given an electric car rental, and I must say I will NEVER rent an electric car again. And I didn’t even want it this time. These stations (the two middle ones which each have two charge lines) say “up to 350 kw,” but one of these stations wasn’t down the two times I went, and the other one started charging my car at 150kw and was down to 38kw by the time I came back 20 min later. I did not wait for a full charge The other two stations say “up to 150kw,” but one is currently app users only. I used one of these the second time and it started at 173kw and went down to 11kw by the time I got a full charge. This took almost 40 min to get to 100% from 36% in my car. Do people really put up with this? I’d this normal for all DC charging stations? I can pump gas in 3 min, but I have to wait 40 min for this?! I’m sorry, but that is insanity. They need to figure out a better, faster way for these stations to get your car to full charge. I did like that this one is next to a Walmart and well lit, so you can grocery shop or walk around inside while you wait. However, they need to fix the one station, and I’m not sure what the point of 8 lines of charging are there for if you can only fit 4 cars in the spot. “**THESE CHARGERS ARE NON-OPERATIONAL AND ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF BEING REPLACED AS OF 1 FEB 2026. Electrify America says they'll be back "sometime in February." Google Maps - including in-car infotainment versions - needs to stop routing electric vehicle drivers to stations without checking the charging station owners' websites to verify they're operational. Google is causing people low on charge to risk getting stuck after sending them off on routes to non-existent stations. Seems as if even so-called "AI" applications could handle that kind of task for Google. Also, I strongly recommend folks use the PlugShare app and website to get more reliable information about EV charging locations and not rely on Google Maps alone when doing route planning. In this case, PlugShare has the CORRECT information, and shows these chargers are presently not operational.” — Bill P., 7 months ago
