“This is the single worst implementation of a public charger that I've ever seen. Only one vehicle can charge at a time because you cannot physically reach the the charger port on any popular EV vehicle in the front spot. Furthermore, you can't even fit two vehicles there even if you could reach. 6kw, super slow. Took 12 hours overnight to charge our Mach-E 65%. We had to wait for 24 hours to get access. “We stayed at the Marriott located on the same block as the charger. Marriott advertises it on their website, this is particularly why we chose the hotel. It’s a very nice level 2 ChargePoint charger with a very difficult approach. Most charge port doors are on the drivers side of the vehicle and traffic on the street is headed in the opposite direction. You have to parallel park with the front of the car headed into traffic, not for the light hearted. My biggest gripe is that the city of Holland is charging people by the hour and not by the kilowatt. Again, we stayed at the hotel, the charger is right outside the doors to the hotel, the hotel has the charger listed on their website, and the rate goes from $0.50 an hour to $2.00 and hour after 10:30PM. Keep in mind that I arrived to the hotel at 7PM and this is a level 2 charger, I need to charge all night or most of it anyways. This made it more expensive then it should have been. All in all this is an awesome charger located directly outside the Marriott. It’s a safe area with lots of shops and dining, plenty to do while you charge. It’s just a little unfair to the overnight hotel guest needing to use the charger overnight.” — Steve Marcus, 4 years ago
