“Extremely disappointing experience. A vehicle was plugged into the charger at 5:00 PM. When I arrived at 11:30 PM, the charger showed the car was already fully charged, yet it was still occupying the charger. The owner was nowhere to be found, and neither the hotel staff nor Tata EZ Charge had the owner’s contact details. I had already booked a charging slot on the Tata EZ Charge app from 11:15 PM to 11:45 PM, but I couldn’t use it because the charger remained occupied. I even booked another slot from 1:15 AM to 1:45 AM, but nothing changed. When I contacted Tata customer care, I was told they would call the owner only if they could obtain the contact number, which was of no help. To make matters worse, I was informed by the hotel staff that this same vehicle owner frequently comes to use this charger and reportedly pressures the security guards to allow charging, even when hotel guests are waiting. If this is true, the hotel management should take immediate action to ensure the charger is used fairly and that priority is given to genuine guests. A public EV charger is not someone’s personal charger. Once a vehicle is fully charged, it should be moved so others can charge. Tata EZ Charge and the hotel both need a better system to prevent charger blocking, including idle fees, owner contact details, and enforcement of booking slots.
