“Tried twice to charge here. Each time there was an error that prevented any charge being transferred. I called the number on the charger and the ChargePoint rep said he couldn’t troubleshoot the charger since it was owned by a third party. This was after keeping me on the phone for quite a while, despite the fact that the ChargePoint phone number was the only number listed on the charger for assistance. I gave up and then noticed that I was charged a flat $10 fee for each of the two attempts regardless of the fact that the charger wasn’t working. When I called ChargePoint later to get a refund they explained that it was a flat fee from the third party owner. That shouldn’t matter to the consumer. If no charge is acquired due to a charger error, no fee should be charged. The customer service rep said he would “help me out” and talk to his manager. After another hold, he came back and asked if a “partial refund of $10 would be ok”. Felt like I was being haggled with at a car dealership. I said I wanted the full $20 and he supposedly went back to his manager and then the $20 was approved. Haven’t seen that $20 yet, so we’ll see. So easy to be wrongfully charged by them but so much friction to get the charges removed.” — Logan Forsythe, a year ago
