What drivers have written

“Lifesaver for CCS1 EV Owners in the Outer Banks – OBX Chevrolet Buick Fast Charger If you’re driving a CCS1-compatible EV like the Ford F-150 Lightning and headed to Pine Island or anywhere in the Outer Banks, bookmark this spot now. After a long journey from Northern Virginia—with two charging stops, a three-month-old baby onboard, and the unfortunate reality of having the standard-range battery—I quickly learned that high-speed CCS1 chargers are a rare find in this area. Most fast-charging stations here cater to Tesla vehicles using the NACS standard. I ordered a CCS1-to-NACS adapter on Amazon to be delivered to our rental, but until then, I was on the hunt for a reliable local option—and I’m glad I found this gem. OBX Chevrolet Buick in Kitty Hawk, NC has a 60 kW DC fast charger available through the InCharge network. It’s tucked discreetly at the dealership (address: 6166 N Croatan Hwy, Kitty Hawk, NC 27949), just before the left turn at Walgreens if you’re heading to Pine Island. What I loved: • Easy access in the dealership parking lot • Reliable 60 kW charging speed (I was pulling 60.4 kW) • Quiet and empty on a Sunday evening • Thick, durable charging cable that, while heavy, delivered consistent power Pro tip: This station may be quiet in the off-season, but during peak summer months, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in high demand. I highly recommend working this into your charging strategy as your final fast charge stop before settling in to your OBX vacation. Hope this helps another CCS1 EV driver avoid the stress I experienced. Safe travels—and don’t forget the adapter if you’re planning to rely on Tesla’s network down here!” — Nelson's HVAC LLC, a year ago

“Had to call the number on the app and give credit card over the phone to charge, said I didn't have internet. It originally said 1 1/2 hours to charge to 80% which usually takes 30 min for a Kia ev6, but it seemed to speed up a little. Was glad to find this. There's also 6 Rivian chargers in the parking lot near Outback with same hookup, but didn't use one. Advise to have a Tesla adaptor in case those are easier to find” — Judy Watt, 5 months ago

“Easy set up. Of course it needs a seperate app but welcome to the EV world. Sadly limited to 60kW but better than nothing (since it’s the only ccs fast charger in the area) overall pleasant experience.” — Philipp Schulz, 2 years ago
