“This is a Flo 320kW station with tap to pay CC in addition to activation through the Flo app. Rate is based on kWh delivered (the way all stations should be) and not time based. Current rate is $0.45/kWh, which IMO is fair for the quality of this charger. It was nearly half what I paid at an Electrify Canada location earlier in the day. When I visited on a Saturday morning, the charge rate peaked at 75kW, which was near the 80kW maximum capability of my EV. Visited the next day, Sunday at 4pm and it was the same experience except for some reason the payment terminal on the left charger wouldn’t accept Apple Pay. Initiated charging with the Flo app instead. It’s a bit out of the way from the 401 and there are zero amenities within walking distance, but otherwise my initial experience here was very positive and I will continue to visit whenever passing through to support this location. This business believes in the future of EVs. Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, when you pull in you will notice EVs charging and that they have planned to add a lot more charging infrastructure than is currently in place. While charging I had a very pleasant and informative conversation in the parking lot with someone apparently in an upper management position at Pomas Farms. He said many of their staff are EV converts, including ownership, and they’re planning to roll out more EVs throughout their business operations while phasing out ICE vehicles. On the public charging side, my impression was they’re offering the Flo 320kW station as a “public good” to support EV operators, both regular drivers as well as commercial operators (he mentioned delivery vans using the charger). IMO this was also reflected in the rate they’re currently charging. While I’ve paid less at a few rare L3 locations, I feel their rate is fair and encourages EV use and adoption. As is evident when at the station, the physical foundation exists for a second 320kW charger, which he confirmed they plan to eventually install. From what I observed and was confirmed by the conversation, they have put a lot of thought and planning into supporting the rollout of EVs for their business and area EV users. While I’d love to keep this excellent facility a secret for personal benefit, the word deserves to get out to encourage this business and more importantly, other businesses, to invest in and do EV infrastructure “right” exactly the way Pomas Farms has. A couple additional notes: the other chargers closer to the building are for company vehicles and cannot be activated by public users.
