“We stop here on almost every trip back from Utah. Usually it’s really easy to use and really fast. Today though I show up and all the chargers are inactive. When I called the help line on the charger I received the most useless response: “The charger was working an hour ago so just wait a bit and it will probably come back on”. I asked if a technician could be dispatched to assist. The person on the help line said that she couldn’t do that. I went in and talked to the exceptional staff at the flying J and they said that whenever this happens a technician will show up the next day and fix it. That means this has happened before and will happen again. What is the point of a support line if all they can do is give you bad advice to wait around for nothing to happen? “On screen charging instructions said using the EVgo app to initiate charge and authorize payments are required; connected the charger, EVgo app won’t recognize the charging station nor the connection. The charging station console gave no other instructions of any alternative way to initiate charge… no help from any employees. Finally payment accepted just using the credit card on the charger! Got charged $16 for 30kWh!!!! Jet fuel may be cheaper!! Layout design on the charging station console is confusing, and info presented is incorrect! It’s probably cheaper to have your EV towed to your destination than paying to charge here!” — J P, a year ago
