What drivers have written

“I'm honestly getting fed up with EV ownership in Texas. Electricity rates have gotten so ridiculous that driving an electric car is starting to make less financial sense than driving a gas car all over again. I'm paying 48¢ per kWh, which works out to about $27 for a full charge—and that's for what Tesla claims is around 200 miles. The reality? With Texas heat, highway speeds, A/C running nonstop, and normal driving conditions, you're lucky to see 180–185 miles before needing to charge again. The whole selling point was lower operating costs, but that advantage is disappearing fast. It feels like a complete bait-and-switch. Every year the costs keep creeping up while the actual range stays the same—or feels worse. At this point, I'm seriously questioning why I'm paying premium electricity prices just to save a few trips to the gas station. 2026 has been the year of the EV rug pull for me. I'm probably going back to a fuel-efficient 4-cylinder or a hybrid. At least I know what I'm getting, and I'm tired of doing mental gymnastics trying to justify these charging costs.” — Meeraj Khan, 3 months ago

“About time Tesla supplies longer cables for its chargers so others can also use it conveniently instead of blocking two spaces. When a non Tesla user uses two spaces it affects both Tesla and non Tesla users.” — Raj Kunwar Singh Chhabra, 2 months ago

“Charging was ok, Tesla needs to come up with a plan to have locations in a more safer, and not in the middle of nowhere locations wait, maybe bathroom access, and also for Tesla members and Tesla drivers at least don’t reduce the charging speed till solo because it is very difficult when you are going from city to city to have five different stops when you can actually do it in two stops, but Tesla slows down the charging speed so much that it forces you to stop again and again, which is extremely painful given the fact that they have such a low battery mileage range in all the Teslas, including the long ranges. FYI, I am a Tesla owner” — yasir farooqi, 2 years ago
