“We stopped at Prakash Hyundai ChargeZone station to charge our EV. We had brought our own lunch, and one of the Hyundai staff members kindly allowed us to sit in the ground-floor hall while the car was charging. However, after some time, a security guard came and very rudely told us that we were not allowed to sit there. Later, the staff member informed us that they had a meeting scheduled in the hall, so we had to leave. The guard then locked the glass door with a chain. We had initially planned to charge our car to 100%, but since there was nowhere for us to sit or wait, we had to leave at 80%. My question is: if travellers cannot even sit somewhere while charging, then what is the purpose of installing an EV charging station at such a location? There is no restaurant, café, or even a dhaba nearby. EV charging can easily take an hour or more, and travellers cannot be expected to stand or walk around for the entire time. A suggestion to ChargeZone: please consider installing chargers at locations where basic facilities like restaurants, cafés, or waiting areas are available. I have noticed some other ChargeZone stations also have no eateries nearby. EV users should be able to utilise their charging time comfortably.” — Satyashil Patil, a week ago
