What drivers have written
“I’m very disappointed with this EVgo charging station. The charger is advertised to deliver up to 200kW, but it’s only charging between 19kW and 31kW. That’s a huge difference and significantly increases charging time. On top of that, several terminals are completely out of service. At the moment, only the chargers labeled Latonya, Cricket, and Isi appear to be working. This creates unnecessary wait times and frustration for drivers who rely on fast charging. If a station is going to advertise 200kW charging, it should consistently deliver close to that speed and have all terminals operational. This location needs maintenance and better reliability.” — Tanisha Murphy, 6 months ago
“EVgo Charging Station Status Report At the EVgo charging station only three out of six charging stations are currently operational, while the remaining three are non-functional. • One station has been down for several months with no visible maintenance or repair efforts. • Another station has been non-functional for weeks, causing increased congestion at the remaining chargers. • A third station just stopped working recently, further reducing charging availability. Operational Status Breakdown Charging Station Status Duration of Downtime Station 1 ✅ Operational N/A Station 2 ✅ Operational N/A Station 3 ✅ Operational N/A Station 4 ❌ Down Months Station 5 ❌ Down Weeks Station 6 ❌ Down Recently Impact on EV Drivers • Longer wait times due to reduced charging availability. • Frustration among EV users, especially for those relying on this station for daily commutes. • Potential revenue loss for EVgo, as users may seek alternative charging providers. • Possible strain on working chargers, increasing the likelihood of additional failures. Urgent Actions Required 1. Immediate Repair Requests: Technicians should be dispatched to assess and fix the three non-working stations. 2. Customer Communication: Users should be informed through the EVgo app, station signage, and email notifications regarding downtime and expected repairs. 3. Preventive Maintenance: A scheduled maintenance plan should be implemented to prevent prolonged outages in the future. 4. Backup Solutions: EVgo should explore temporary solutions, such as deploying mobile charging units or incentivizing alternative station usage. Conclusion With half of the charging stations out of service, the functionality of this EVgo location is severely impacted. Immediate repair actions are necessary to restore full capacity and prevent further inconvenience to EV drivers. A timeline for repairs should be provided as soon as possible to ensure transparency and reliability.” — Gerrod Brown, a year ago
“Charger started as expected! I was here until my car reached 80%, but there's no cap on this charging station, like some of the other stations have.” — Jessica Moss, 5 months ago
