“Tried the BP Pulse DC fast charger at this Thorntons location today and the experience left a lot to be desired. I was plugged in for 22 minutes, with no other vehicles charging at the station to split power, yet only averaged 81.8 kW with a peak of 98.31 kW, well below what these chargers are rated for. I did get a successful session, 32 kWh in 22 minutes for $16.53, which is a fair rate for fast charging. But on top of that, I was hit with two additional unexplained charges: a $20 charge tied to a connection attempt that failed (no power delivered, no successful session), and a separate $35 charge from "EV Connect Inc." that I never authorized or initiated myself. Three charges from a single visit, $71.53 total, for what should have been one ~$16 charging session. If you're using bp pulse here, keep a close eye on your bank statement afterward, and don't expect to see the speeds advertised even when you have the station to yourself. “Excellent location, but although I know electric cars are improving, the charging time is approximately 1 hour 45-50 minutes, which is a lot of wasted time and needs improvement. Vehicle compatibility is also a problem, as some cars don't connect easily, requiring some effort to find another charging station, which is sometimes difficult to locate. Additionally, more charging stations with ample parking are needed, as sometimes you have to wait in line, which is very time-consuming. ⏱️ Otherwise, it's fantastic! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯⚡️💯‼️‼️” — Maria Del C.
