“Please read this entire review. The charger works fine, but it's got quirks. This charger is on the Chargepoint network. The easiest way to start it is to have the Chargepoint app. It's a 6.6kW charger with a J1772 connector on it. Cars with the J1772 connector AND cars with the CCS connector can use this charger due to CCS being J1772 with an extra set of pins. Essentially, J1772 is the round top part of the larger CCS connector for DC fast charging. This is a single source charger but it has two cables. If you are the only person using this charger, you'll see 6.6kW as advertised. However, if there's a second car using the charger, it'll operate in Shared mode and you'll each only get half of its rated speed. Currently, there's another car plugged into connector 2, so I'm on connector 1 and the charger is operating in Shared mode to provide for both vehicles. I've been here 20 minutes and have received 5 miles worth of charge as estimated by the Chargepoint app. My car has a 255 mile range, and 55 miles is 1/51st of 255, so I've received 2/102% charge, or just a hair under 2% once converted to 1.988/100. That's assuming that Chargepoint's estimated 255 mile range for my vehicle is accurate.” — Darren Weber, 12 months ago

“It's a smooth process, however, Chargepoint pre-authorizes a set amount once charging starts. Which is usually between $25-50. Then it takes a few days for the difference to be returned.
