“Frustrating Experience with Electrify America Charging and Customer Service I’m sharing my recent experience with Electrify America to raise awareness about a policy change and disappointing customer service. I visited this charging location on June 13, 2025, and charged my vehicle from 5:40 PM to 6:03 PM, incurring a charge of $13.06. My vehicle manufacturer provides free charging for sessions under 30 minutes for the first two years of ownership. However, I was unexpectedly charged for this session. According to Electrify America, the policy for this location changed on June 12, 2025, and users would now be charged regardless of their manufacturer’s agreement. Unfortunately, I received no prior notice of this change—neither via the vehicle’s app nor the on-screen interface during the session. When I reached out to customer service, I was met with a rude response and no resolution. Had there been any clear communication during the session regarding the new charges, I would have simply chosen a different location that still offers free charging or opted to charge at home. A word of caution: If you rely on your manufacturer’s free charging offer, please double-check the policies at this location beforehand to avoid unexpected charges.
