“The EV chargers here seem nice - covered, window washing available - but there’s a catch. There’s no shutoff. Every other EV charger I’ve ever used has a “stop charge” button, but not this one. Given that current EVs charge much more slowly as they get up to full, it’s standard on road trips to not charge to full. But if you want to do that here, you’ll need to come up with your own way to stop the charging, by calling into ChargePoint, using your car’s emergency shutoff, etc. I guess they expect you to use the app, but tapping credit card is so much easier, given the dozen+ apps you’d need to cover all the charging companies. “I was able to charge quickly and easily with my Honda Prologue. Very clean machines, and it wasn't busy when I arrived. It's very well-lit at night, easy to find, and in a safe location right inside the parking lot at Love's gas station. Carl's Jr is located inside the gas station and within 100 feet of the chargers, and there's a couple other restaurants around the area to eat as well. “This is probably uncommon but the station shut off (overhead lights and everything) for a minute and chargers went offline.
