You need a special app or card; you can't pay directly by credit card like at the pump or at charging stations in the US, where contactless payment starts in two seconds. Here, you have to prepay your account (so there will always be unused money left over) via the app. In short, I wasted 30 minutes in -19°C when it could be as simple as contactless payment...
