“Stay away from EVgo if you can. It is unbelievable how overpriced their electricity it’s more expensive than gas. I had a horrible experience where their horrible app basically forced me to enter my personal credit card just to activate a session, even though I already had my prepaid charge card entered in the app. Unlike Electrify America where you can just tap and go, EVgo makes everything a million times more complicated. The worst part is their 'customer service. They literally have none!! When the app glitched and charged my personal credit card instead of the prepaid one I selected, I called them and they basically told me since they already got paid, it’s my problem not theirs. They told me they didn't care and then just left me on read over email. I even offered to let them charge the prepaid card MORE just so they could fix the mistake and charge the correct card, but they didn't care. Went online to see if this is normal, YES it's normal for EVgo. Overcharging credit cards seems to be a standard practice for them... endless stories online about how bad this company is. This happens over and over.. The thing is, if they simply charged the correct card I would've never even noticed or cared if they were overcharging me. I'm done EVgo, you will never steal from me again. Never again. If the issue isn't about the money, and for some reason you truly can’t reverse an app charge, then at least do the right thing and offer a refund in good faith. I explained my situation in detail multiple times, yet the concept of customer service seems non existent for them. Unbelievable.... If EVgo ever reaches out with a genuine solution to make this right, I’ll update this post. STAY AWAY FROM EVGO IF YOU CAN!” — Jon Yacub, 4 months ago
