“This Supercharger is conveniently located in the city and has a long layout with plenty of charging stalls. It offers restrooms and vending machines, making it a comfortable place to stop. The solar-panel canopy provides excellent protection from both rain and direct sunlight, which is a nice touch. One small issue is that the current version of FSD always seems to navigate to and auto-park at only one side of the Supercharger, even though there are plenty of available stalls throughout the site. “At the Tesla Supercharger in Santa Monica, I’ve frequently noticed that some vehicles occupy charging stalls without actually charging, using them as regular parking spots. This situation makes the station appear busier than it really is and leads to higher pricing due to peak demand. However, these spots are intended only for active charging. This creates inconvenience and unnecessary extra costs for drivers who genuinely need to charge their vehicles. “I was in Santa Monica so I visited a Supercharging station labeled "Tesla Rest Stop". It has 62 stalls with 26 open. I was hoping for some air for my tire (which I have seen at one station) but no luck here. What I did find was a large, clean, solar powered, cooled lobby with drinking fountain, water bottle fill up, restrooms and vending machine. You need a code to get in which is on the app. I tried the vending machine which is one of those new ai ones where you tap to pay and then take as much out of the fridge as you want to pay for.. Interesting. The restrooms were clean and modern. This is a really nice benefit of using an EV because in LA sometimes it's hard to find restrooms while you are on the road, especially late at night.” — Tim McCoy, 3 months ago
