“Pulled into the Santa Rosa Tesla Supercharger with my battery sitting at a bold and confident 7%, which in Tesla language roughly translates to “You should probably start panicking a little.” Luckily, there it was… a beautiful row of Superchargers standing proudly like robotic gas pumps from the future. I backed in, plugged the car in, and suddenly the Tesla started slurping electricity like a kid with a milkshake. Within seconds it was happily inhaling electrons while I stood there pretending I fully understand what kWh means. While charging, the traditional Tesla Supercharger activities began: • Walk slowly around the car like a race car engineer • Check the charging speed every 12 seconds • Make eye contact with another Tesla owner and silently nod like we’re part of a secret electric society • Wonder if Elon is watching us from space Before I knew it, the battery jumped from “Call a tow truck” to “Let’s drive to Oregon for tacos.” The whole experience took just long enough for me to check messages, contemplate life, and realize I should probably also plug in my phone since it was at 3%.
