“This charging station is in a Sinoco Gas Station. It says “in partnership with Piso, powered by EVconnect.” This was the worst EVolve Charging Station I’ve ever visited. Three of the four chargers had paper hand written notes saying “Must use EV Connect app to start/activate station. Touch screen/credit card does not work.” Someone was charging at the station without the note and told us he was leaving so we waited and pulled into that spot. We couldn’t get the screen to work. We ended up getting the charge to work by using the app. Thanks to the person who left the note but it’s not going to survive once the notebook paper gets rained on. I called the phone number on the charger and got a message that the number isn’t working. I just always thought EVolve stations would be more reliable. I’ve never heard of Piso so I looked it up; “PISO, which stands for PlugIn Stations Online, is a company specializing in the sale, installation, and maintenance of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for residential, commercial, and public use. Services include planning and implementing EV solutions, supplying equipment, and providing ongoing support for charging stations, from home units to high-speed DC fast chargers.” So why doesn’t the screens or payment terminal work? Who’s responsible? Why didn’t the phone number go to anyone? While charging a Chevy Bolt pulled in and I told her about the screen not working and she used the app and she got it working without any difficulty. She said it was a good thing as she only had ten miles remaining and had to go thirty miles. There was a level 2 Clipper Creek charger in one of the charging parking spots. It couldn’t be used if someone was using the EVolve charger but it’s a great backup if all the Level 3 chargers weren't working. I assume it doesn’t use the same electricity as the Level 3 chargers. The Sinoco station building has large signs saying “Mo’s Gyros and Kababs” but inside I didn’t see a counter where anything would be made. Next time I’ll ask about it. There’s a men’s and women’s bathroom that was acceptable. The store is like most gas station stores selling drinks and packaged food and snacks. It’s not the nicest looking station but better than a charging station without any facilities.” — Bill, 8 months ago
