“Got hit with one of the classic Toronto Impark parking traps here. Weekend rate is supposed to be $15 6PM to 6AM, but the machine suddenly charged me $40 for “event parking” — even though there was no event happening anywhere nearby. No signage at the entrance, nothing indicating event rates, nothing warning drivers. The only “notice” was a tiny plaque hidden at the exit gate, placed in a spot you can’t see until you’re already trapped between two closed gates with no staff around. To make it worse, the machine took my token and didn’t print a receipt, so there’s no way to verify anything. No attendant, no help button that actually connects to a human, and no way to back out once you’re inside. You’re forced to pay whatever amount the machine decides to charge. This is a predatory setup and a well‑known issue with Impark downtown. Terrible signage, zero transparency, and no customer support. I’m disputing the charge because this is exactly the kind of “event rate scam” people warn about. Avoid this garage unless you want to gamble with surprise fees.” — myself 88, a month ago
