“My wife was considering using one of these Level 2 chargers to charge her Volvo XC90 Recharge overnight while staying at the Best Western, however the pricing was just too high. At the time of writing this, it entails a $4.50 "Start Fee", a $0.99/hWh rate, and a $1/hr occupancy fee. Not competitive and not convenient. Fully charging an XC90 Recharge here would cost in the neighborhood of what I pay to fast charge my Model Y to 80% (82 kWh) at a Tesla Supercharger. Meanwhile it costs around $2 to fully charge the XC90 at home. In my opinion, Level 2 chargers at hotels should be complimentary (with some sort of non-fee-based system in place to minimize unnecessary station occupancy), but that's something to post on a review of the Best Western. “These chargers are difficult to use. The numbers printed on the chargers are not the unit numbers needed to operate them. The app is slow and buggy. But the real problem is the pricing. It's $0.99 per kwh to charge PLUS $4.49 just to plug in, and that does not go towards the charging. This is by far the most expensive charger I have ever used.
