“I'm going to go on record to say that EVgo as a company just SUCKS. I've had an EV for 20 months now, and try not to fast charge a lot, but used their network the most in the first year since there was a credit given by the vehicle manufacturer. In my experience, they only work about 50-60% of the time. Recently, at this location, the charging didn't initialize with the first plug-in (error in communication between the plug and the vehicle on-board charger) so then the app tells you to "unplug, wait 20 seconds, and try again." Shockingly, it did start delivering power on the second attempt, but the session was not registered to the screen on the charger, so there was no way to end the session other than calling in to customer service, who (like most in their company) was largely rude and unhelpful. Their charger screens are often non-functional, and it's mind-boggling that they don't have the functionality of being able to end the session via the app. I asked for a partial refund because I had to pay for more time than I wanted while waiting to call in and deal with the representative -- instead, I got misinformation and pushback via email from the same rep that was so uninformed and unhelpful --she actually claimed that at this location you HAVE to call in to end the session, which is a patent lie. Thankfully, Chase gave me the partial refund I asked for when I disputed the credit card charge, as EVgo failed to deliver the proper service at a fair cost. Unreliable networks like EVgo's are the largest reason that EV sales are slumping, because they are failing to deliver a consistent and reliable experience.” — Justin VB (DrJustino), 2 years ago
