What drivers have written
“Testing the EVgo charging station at Boca Town Center gave me a chance to evaluate the equipment for this review. Although it wasn’t a full charging stop, the experience provided valuable insights. The charger maxed out at around 50 kW, which is relatively slow for a DC fast charger in 2024. However, it worked without any issues, demonstrating the reliability of EVgo’s network. One of the advantages of having an EVgo account is the plug-and-charge feature. As soon as I plugged in my vehicle, the VIN number was recognized, and charging commenced using my default payment method on file. This seamless process is convenient and eliminates the need for additional steps, making the experience straightforward. I only charged briefly to check the top speed, but the station’s location is quite good. Situated at the Boca Town Center, it’s convenient for those who plan to spend time shopping or dining. While there aren’t any immediate amenities at the charging spot itself, the covered location offers some protection from the elements, which is always a plus. Additionally, there’s an EVgo Level 2 charger available, which makes sense for a mall setting where people might spend more time. Overall, my experience with EVgo since I first took delivery of my EV six months ago has been pretty decent. Their chargers consistently work, which is crucial for any EV driver. However, one downside is that EVgo’s chargers tend to be slower compared to other networks. The 50 kW maximum speed I encountered here is a testament to that. In today’s fast-paced world, quicker charging speeds are increasingly important, and this is an area where EVgo could improve. Another point to consider is the availability of EVgo chargers. Compared to some other networks, there are fewer EVgo stations deployed, which can limit options for EV drivers. This is something to keep in mind if you’re planning longer trips or need frequent charging stops. In conclusion, while EVgo offers consistent and reliable service, the slower charging speeds and fewer stations are notable drawbacks. However, for routine, short stops like this test, it does the job adequately. I’ll continue to monitor and review other stations as I explore more on my EV journey.” — John M (The Closer), 2 years ago
“This charging station was hard to find but it (parking garage complex) is adjacent to the Nordstrom department store And has DC fast charging. One star off because of the terrible Geo-taging. another star off because some of the Chargers are disabled or broken.” — Nickolas valiente, 6 years ago
“They are pricey gouging. Need to call the better business buro” — Beachboy, 5 months ago
